The mandate
Lead and scale a forward-deployed engineering team implementing AI-enabled sensing and software in industrial manufacturing environments. Resolve complex customer deployments, expand enterprise rollouts, and turn field experience into repeatable delivery practices.
Key responsibilities
- Set weekly priorities and allocate field engineers across deployments as customer needs shift.
- Recover stalled enterprise implementations and lead difficult customer escalations.
- Explain deployment approaches to prospects and drive multi-site expansion opportunities.
- Hire, coach, and mentor field deployment engineers across regions.
- Review performance metrics, forecasts, and capacity with leadership; feed field insights into product strategy.
What you bring
- 5+ years in deployment, professional services, or field engineering leadership in industrial automation or manufacturing software.
- Hands-on experience at factory sites, including complex implementations and recovery of troubled projects.
- Working knowledge of industrial automation environments such as PLC, SCADA, HMI, MES, QMS, and OT/IT integration.
- Experience hiring, developing, and scaling technical customer-facing teams.
- Willingness to travel extensively, especially during initial onboarding; work authorization must already be in place.
Location & engagement details
Somerville / Boston, Massachusetts · On-site; 25%+ travel
Full-time, onsite in the Boston area with 25%+ customer travel and potentially more initially. Base $150K–$200K plus approximately $50K performance bonus, for $200K–$250K OTE; equity is also offered. No visa sponsorship or relocation support. Interview stages include an initial screen, onsite half-day, and investor interview.
